After 38 years, Jason and Rose finally crossed paths on the softball field—a game that captured the essence of their shared pastimes. Both leading busy lives, they only managed a handful of games together. Rose couldn’t help but notice how cute Jason looked in his white and red pinstripe pants, while Jason was busy wondering if she was dating anyone on the team. Their playful high fives were mostly silent, only turning into meaningful conversations as the season drew to a close.
A few games before the season's end, Jason overheard Rose lamenting about her routine of just work and softball since moving to Indiana. Intrigued, he seized the moment and asked her what else she’d been up to. “Nothing, it’s been Covid central everywhere,” she replied with a hint of frustration.
Curious, he inquired if she had been boating on Morse Reservoir, the shimmering body of water just beyond home plate. “No,” she answered, shaking her head. Undeterred, he asked if she’d be interested in going boating sometime. “Do you have a boat?” she countered. “Yes!” he said with enthusiasm. Her eyes lit up as she replied, “Heck, yes!”
And just like that, a new chapter began for them, filled with promise and adventure.
